Fee Payment - General Information

Korean Won fees must be directly deposited into account #630-005099-167 at the Korea Exchange Bank, Suwon Young Tong Branch, Korea.

US Dollar fees must be directly deposited into account #650-005267-589 at the Korea Exchange Bank, Suwon Young Tong Branch, Korea.

A family experiencing difficulty in making payments should contact the finance office and schedule a conference to discuss the possibilities of a deferred payment plan.


Early Fee Payment / Withdrawal Prior to Start of the School Year / Returning Student Fee Policies

1. Parents wishing to pay the entire annual tuition and fees by April 24, 2013 will receive a 2% discount on the annual rate.

2. All 1st Semester tuition and fees for returning students must be paid by May 15, 2013 to secure a seat, confirm registration, and schedule classes. All 2nd Semester tuition and fees must be paid by November 13, 2013 to secure a seat, confirm registration, and schedule classes.

3. Students admitted to GSIS before or during summer vacation prior to the beginning of the new school year are required to pay tuition and fees within the first week of acceptance. A student admitted into GSIS after the new school year has begun is required to pay tuition and fees prior to the first day of attending class.

4. 1st Semester tuition and fees are due May 15, 2013.

Late payments for 1st Semester that are received between:
May 16 - July 31  will be assessed a six percent (6%) late fee;
August 1  - September 23 will be assessed an eight percent (8%) late fee;
September 24  - November 22 will be assessed a ten percent (10%) late fee.
 

5. 2nd Semester tuition and fees are due November 13, 2013.

Late payments for 2nd Semester that are received between:
November 14 - January 21  will be assessed a six percent (6%) late fee;
January 22- March 21  will be assessed an eight percent (8%) late fee;
March 22 - May 21  will be assessed a ten percent (10%) late fee.
 

6. Parents of students who notify the school of changes in enrollment plans from April - July  are entitled to a 90% refund of 1st Semester tuition and 100% of 2nd Semester tuition and fees.

7. Parents of students who notify the school of changes in enrollment plans from August  are entitled to an 85% of 1st semester tuition and refund of the total 2nd semester fee payment.

8. Parents of students who notify the school of changes in enrollment plans from August  - October  are entitled to a 20% of 1st Semester and 100% refund of the total 2nd semesterl fee payment.

9. Returning students are exempt from payment of the capital fee. However, all other fees are applicable to returning students as well as new students.

 

Late Admission Student Fee Policies

1. Students who are admitted any time during the 1st Quarter of the school year are required to pay full tuition and fees for all services requested.

2. Students who are admitted any time during the 2nd Quarter of the school year will pay 75% of the annual tuition and fees for all services requested with the exception of the registration, application, and capital fees, which require 100% payment.

3. Students who are admitted any time during the 3rd Quarter of the school year will pay the full second semester tuition and fees or 50% of the annual tuition and fees for all services requested with the exception of the registration, application, and capital fees, which require 100% payment.

4. Students who are admitted any time during the 4th Quarter of the school year will pay 25% of the annual tuition and fees for all services requested with the exception of the registration, application, and capital fees, which require 100% payment.

 

Early Withdrawal of Students Fee Policies

1. Students who withdraw during the 1st Quarter of the school year will be eligible for a refund of 20% of 1st semester and 100% of 2nd semester tuition. Boarding, transportation, and lunch fee refunds are prorated on the basis of the number of days left in the semester or year. There is no refund for any other fees.

2. Students who withdraw during the 2nd Quarter of the school year will be refunded none of the first semester and 40% of the 2nd semester tuition. Boarding, transportation, and lunch fee refunds are prorated on the basis of the number of days left in the semester or year. There is no refund for any other fees.

3. Students who withdraw during the 3rd Quarter of the school year will be eligible for a refund of 20% of the 2nd semester tuition. Boarding, transportation, and lunch fee refunds are prorated on the basis of the number of days left in the semester or year. There is no refund for any other fees.

4. Students who withdraw during the 4th Quarter of the school year are ineligible for a refund, except for boarding, transportation, and lunch fees, which are prorated on the basis of the number of days left in the semester or year. There is no refund for any other fees.

5. In extreme circumstances that result in a large number of withdrawals or school closure such as war, civil strife, labor unrest, or extreme weather conditions that cannot be reasonably anticipated or controlled, GSIS reserves the right to deny refunds. Additionally, tuition and fees unpaid will be due and payable.

6. Refunds are mailed or given to parents only after all withdrawal documentation is presented, signed and cleared by the finance department. Requests in writing for refunds, with proper clearance, will be processed and mailed within 30 days. Official documents, such as transcripts, are held by the school until a student’s account is cleared of any balance due.

7. Generally, refunds will be made in Korean Won unless the entire tuition was initially paid in US Dollars.
