John Petrey came to Korea from Charlotte, NC where he served three years as Elementary Principal at Charlotte Christian School. Before his work in North Carolina, he served for seven years as a teacher and assistant principal in Lexington and Richland Counties in South Carolina.
After obtaining a bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, Mr. Petrey completed a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Columbia International University. He obtained a Master’s degree in educational administration from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Petrey is a graduate of the School Leadership Executive Institute for Developing Aspiring Principals and is certified as an elementary teacher, principal and supervisor by the South Carolina Dept of Education.
Mr. Petrey has served on accreditation teams for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the advisory panel for CAPE, the Council for American Private Education. He is a member of the National Association of Elementary School Principals, the International Reading Association and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development
