Mr. Dwight Carlblom is the Assistant Headmaster and High School Principal at GSIS. Mr. Carlblom has been involved in international Christian schools for 24 years, and in education for 33 years. For 22 years, Mr. Carlblom taught and then administered at Dalat International School (Penang, Malaysia), and then he spent two years teaching at Taejon Christian International School (TCIS) in Daejon. For the last six years he was with a Christian college in Minnesota - the first two years as a professor, and the last four years as Vice President of Student Development.
Mr. Carlblom and his wife Lori, who is also working at GSIS in the Pre-K program and as a Reading Specialist, have two daughters and three grandchildren. Both daughters are products of the international Christian school program.
Mr. Carlblom earned his Bachelor’s degree in History (Bible minor), his Master of Arts in Teaching (History), and is currently working on his doctoral dissertation for a Ph.D. in Education. He has also taken part in and presented for local and international educator’s seminars and conferences, and has served on several WASC and ACSI accreditation teams.
The responsibilities that Mr. Carlblom overseas at GSIS all involve High School. Most importantly would be his oversight of the educational program and the Student Life Ministry program, both of which are focused on the holistic development and preparation of GSIS students.
